My participation in this group exhibition organised by Lips, was an invitation from a member of the collective, who I have met through work.

Idea of a tree- like set of tubes and organic shapes inspired by looking at images of networks of blood vessels in a human body being put into  space that has a purpose of bringing people together through community work, socially engaging projects, governed by a non-profit organisation- DIY Space For London.

It was particularly interesting for me to experience it as an exhibition space because the direction that I have in mind for the development of my work beyond the graduation, which is creating installations in community centers aiming for them to act as a therapy of looking at the inside of the human body and the role it plays in rediscovering oneself as an individual within the social space. It s creation of a space within the space.

I have built this sculpture out of pieces of metallic card boad carving into them with a scalpel and gluing details together with a superglue.

I used a wooden armature composed out of a wooden pole screwed to a rectangular board. Apart from it being a test idea as a continuation from the one i tried to realise for  Sparks- having a reflective surface on the sculpture, the `diy` approach to  making of the piece intentionally reflected the name and the aesthetic of the exhibition space.

I collaborated with Legge Studio on the making of it. This added an extra meaning conceptually because both spaces are located within the same geographic vicinity but also there is a conceptual connection between the Sparks show and Lips Ball in that both are socially engaging projects.
