`Sound is a complex phenomenon and  can be experienced physically, mentally, emotionally, but also visually ....

How sound can be connected to the physical world, but also to imagine visual interpretations of sound.

Above: Excerpts from the book i have purchased from a member of Analema Group after the opening talk of the project that i have attended on the 20 th of Nov 2019  at Tate Exchange,  Tate Modern. This is how the artist collective expresses the purpose of the project and the means by which they are aiming to engage the public with the theme of urban noise.

Above: The photos taken by me when walking through the installation prior visiting an opening talk at Tate Exchange( 20th Nov 2019). They capture two elements of the installation that were most interesting for me in understanding my own approach- the connection between the text and the image that have a primary research as a source.

What interested me the most in this installation that i have experiences and the ethos of this  project by the collective at large, is that they are recreating this experience this experience of the urban noise for the audience and let them to respond , which then in turn consfirms the discussion of the negative aspects of that experience.

`Giving our audiences control over noise experiences. Using direct interaction, the audience explores sound visually, creatively and spatially all the while listening, interfering and engaging with noise, controlling it`

They are not trying to just visualise their research that they have already done. The installation itself is a research, that is still ongoing. It in my opinion connects the audience more to the work, making the experience more personal and highlights the aspects of it in a more powerful way .In this case text, sound and image do not disrupt each other but they are each a layer that builds up that experience as each evolves from one another rather than fills the extra space.

They are asking the audience to express their associations with urban noise in words, utilising  a mobile app as a platform to input those and a projector to create a visual of that response. It is a bit like interviewing the public and than using it as a part of the artwork.
